SavingFood Festival in Athens!
The SavingFood Festival is an event against food waste through cooking shows by Chefs and Food Bloggers, educational, experiential workshops, Disco soup parties and many other surprises. Our SavingFood event will take place on Saturday 3rd of March 2018 and will be organized by the SavingFood Project, Boroume, WWF Greece and Impact Hub Athens. The purpose of this event will be to join forces against food waste!

There are going to be:
Demonstrations from food bloggers: Mamatsita Ginger and Funky Cook, who will present tasty suggestions for the use of overnight food and ideas for alternative and nutritious daily meals! A Disco Soup party, where volunteers, under the guidance of Chef Stelios Maragkos and Kleomenis Zournatzis, (Madame Ginger and Funky Cook), will prepare and offer salads and fruit salads, using surplus fruits and vegetables that volunteers of “Boroume in Laiki” have saved from farmer’s markets, the previous days.
Experiential educational workshops for children and families on reducing food waste, on environmental protection and social supply.
Reading, playing and improvising on the children’s book “Dinosaur: Drops Food” (Published by Pataki publishers) to reduce food waste and the value of offering surplus food, with Alexandra K and Dikaios Chatziplis.
A photo exhibition and video presentations that will address the issue of food waste, as well as informing visitors about the SavingFood project and the actions of Boroume and WWF Hellas. Social Challenges Innovation platform presentation of the platform and financial tools for sustainable food systems by Marina Sarli, European Affairs Officer at Impact Hub.
